Vintage cookies = timeless taste

Clothes can be vintage. Cars can be vintage. But cookies? Sure - if they're made with the same all-natural ingredients and in the same way that they were made since their recipe was first created, decades ago.

That's where the Salem Baking Company comes in, with their offerings of Moravian and shortbread cookies, cheese straws and cheese biscuits.

Their latest offering, Moravian chocolate spice cookies, really gets the mouth watering...a delightful accompaniment to coffee in the morning or evening.

Salembaking The Salem Baking Company nestles in the foothills of North Carolina, and has been operating continuously since 1932 (albeit under the name Dewey's Bakery.) The name was changed in 1992 as they decided to offer their traditionally baked foods on the national market, and we can be glad they did!

Cheese lovers will love their cheese biscuits - which come in such delectable flavors as Cheddar, Gorgonzola, Parmesan Artichoke Garlic and Sun Dried Tomato Pesto.

Cheese straws come in a "Classic southern style" or as petites.

You haven't tasted shortbread cookies until you've tasted the delectable flavors offered by the Salem Baking Company. Lemon, Key Lime, Pina Colada, and Chocolate shortbread add just that extra bit of zing, although the traditional Scottish shortbread cookie is also available.

And don't miss out on their Moravian cookies!  A Moravian community (from an area in Europe in what is now called the Czech republic) settled in North Carolina in 1766, and they were the source of the recipe for the bakery's very first product- Moravian Cookies.  The cookies you'll be savoring have a recipe that's over 400 years old. Talk about vintage! Talk about good!  Grab some at the Salem Baking Company!

Pacific Cookie Company Food Review

We are fully aware that cookies do not grow on trees, BUT if they did, we know we would find these delights growing on a wonderfully scented lemon tree. The lemon drop cookies sent to us from the Pacific Cookie Company were just that tangy and fresh tasting! A variation on the standard sugar cookie, this cookie was uniquely citrus laced, a little sweet, a little lemony. And really good.

The Pacific Cookie Company offers a wide variety of cookies (12 to be exact) to accomodate even the toughest cookie lover. Here are some of the most unique:

Pacific_2 MAC CHUNK - Chunky and gooey, made with Ghirardelli chocolate chunks and macadamia nuts. CAHOOTZ! - A Polynesian toll house cookie made with an exquisite combination of Guittard white chocolate chips and macadamia nuts with a hint of coconut. ALMOND JOE - Tantalizing medley of almonds, chocolate and coconut…made with Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate chips, diced almonds and real shredded coconut. DR. MIDNIGHT - Triple chocolate delight with Ghirardelli semi-sweet chocolate, satiny chocolate syrup and cocoa powder. MINT CONDITION - A cool variation of our triple chocolate…We replace chocolate chips in our Dr. Midnight with Guittard green mint chips.

Of course they offer the traditional favorites like chocolate chip and peanut butter, for those who simply love the classics.

We'd suggest you visit their website for the complete delectable list of homemade cookie offerings! Do yourself a favor and sign up for their Cookie of the Month Club!

Pacific Cookie Company cookies have zero grams of trans fat and are made with only only the finest ingredients,...fresh eggs, creamy butter, and world famous Guittard and Ghiradelli chocolate. They are baked and shipped the same day for ultra-freshness.

They offer an extensive variety of gift boxes and baskets, cookie tins and jars, bulk ordering and even an Executive Gift Program. You name the occassion, they've got you covered! Take special note of their creative packaging...it is obvious they take pride in the entire process of providing their customers with a quality product.

We've done a little of our own snooping, and apparently anyone lucky enough to live close to their Santa Cruz location can stop by for fresh out of the oven homemade cookies. And let me tell you, these folks know how lucky they are!

For those of us not that fortunate, we can simply head on over to the Pacific Cookie Company website to order our selections. The only thing missing is the fresh baked aromas!Darn!

Cutie Pie Cookies Food Review

These cookies made by Cutie Pie Cookie Co. aren't just cute...they are beautiful!

Stunning floral graphic designs adorn these delightful homemade vanilla sugar cookie creations! I couldn't bear to eat them, but I did anyway. :>) But not after putting them on display to be admired by all who saw them...kind of like a mini art gallery.

Cookie1Cutie Pie Couture Cookies are designed by Oh Joy Studio and are available in four different designs, each one as "cutie" as the next.    They also offer custom design, and the possibilities are endless. Logos, wedding or birth announcements, even personal photos! They are individually wrapped in cellophane, and tied with a raffia ribbon. The Cutie Pie Cookie Company is happy to include a personalized note with gift orders. Nice, huh?

And by the way, these just aren't pretty, they taste great too. Made with the freshest ingredients, including real butter, and pure vanilla extract. We loved the crispy, sweet taste!

Chocolate Gourmet's Ugly Truffles and Damn Good Cookies...

We have discovered a gem. A sweet-lover's paradise. We have found ChocolateGourmet.com and the fabulous treats they offer!

They call their hand rolled truffles "ugly truffles" (we don't agree!) and their rich, buttery cookies "damn good cookies" (we agree!). Now, the name calling doesn't stop there. There are cookies called chubby wubby chocolate, overprotective pecan, rockabye raspberry, controlling coconut, and maternal macadamia nut. Can't you just imagine some great occasions to send these to someone befitting the name?? Boxes

And it's not enough that these poor truffles are called ugly..listen to what else they're called. Homely Hazelnut? Hairy Coconut? Messed up Mocha? Put your clothes on Chocolate? You Suck Lemon! They've got to be sporting a complex! Regardless of their names, they are simply delicious!

The tasty cookies are fresh baked and delivered the very same day. Flaky, homemade, rich in flavor. And every cookie has a special touch..bittersweet ganache, crisp coconut, homemade raspberry preserve. As close to visiting your neighborhood bakery that you are ever going to get. And that's if you still have a neighborhood bakery.

Damn

The truffles are smooth, rich and creamy and each one totally different than the next. Two surprises were the Morning After Merlot...merlot ganache surrounded with bittersweet chocolate and rolled in red velvet cake crumbs, and Gordito Picante...smooth cinnamony Mexican chocolate warmed with chili spices and surrounded in milk chocolate and ground tortillas! How did they ever think those up?

ChocolateGourmet.com also offers homemade rugelach...you know those little rolled sweet cream cheese pastries filled with luscious fillings? Like apricot, cherry and hazelnut!

And if you are looking for wedding favors, or corporate gifts customized for your occasion...well, they will happily oblige!

The packaging is unique, the buying options numerous, the baked goods phenomenal. so...what are you waiting for? Visit www.chocolategourmet.com and remember to add them to your favorites. We guarantee you will visit often.

Charleston Cookie Company

When our samples arrived from the Charleston Cookie Company , we just loved the presentation from the very beginning. Gold tins wrapped in ribbons, motivational quote tags, sparkly gold bags filled with cookies...the perfect size for gift-giving. And apparently, that is a tradition that Charleston continues...giving gifts unexpectedly. They even have a name for it...surcee. Who knew??

But enough about the wonderful packaging...the true glory is in the cookies themselves! Delicious! No, I mean, delicious! Our sampling began with the chocolate chip pecan cookies. They sure don't scrimp...these cookies were loaded with rich deep chocolate, and whole, (not just pieces), of crunchy pecans. Fear not...we'll get through the rest of these delightful cookies very easily!Peachesncremeweb

The Charleston Cookie Company offers a wide array of cookies, brownies and even Gift Baskets! Try their White Chocolate Lime, or Peaches and Cream for starters.

The Charleston Cookie Company was formed after a quest to find the perfect cookie recipe. We'd say they succeeded!

Visit their website and grab some for yourself..or keep the tradition of surcee alive, and give an unexpected gift of delicious delights!

Confuzzled Gourmet New York Cookies

Okay...we're addicted! Delicious! Delightful! Delectable! Confuzzled Cookies will be a hit with anyone who tries them...we promise!

It's a great success story...Mom Lisa Banjany whipped up these treats one day for her children...they loved them, and everyone who has tried them since has loved them.

Fuzzled_3 Now, don't expect your typical cookie...these are far from it. It's like a cookie,... well maybe like a candy,... but where did this cracker come from??? Oh, you'll see what we mean when you drop in on ConfuzzledCookies and stock up on some for yourself.

The hardest part is going to be to figure out what flavor to grab.  They offer Toffee,  Rainbow Sprinkles, and Coconut in Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate and White Chocolate. The packaging is really cute and funky, too. They would make wonderful hostess/host gifts!

Lisa and her famous cookies have recently been featured at Henri Bendel....which means Confuzzled Cookies have been discovered. The world will be a better place. Yum.
