We started by tasting some of the spectacular blends in their "More Than Sauces" collection. Each of the five sauces represented a unique blend of flavors that could be used in a number of different ways - as a dip, marinade, sauce, glaze, and even sometimes a salad dressing.
Take, for example, the Pomegranate Teriyaki sauce. It tastes like a teriyaki style sauce but has the added benefit of fresh pomegranate juice. The taste is richer than a normal teriyaki and adds versatility to the blend. We marinated our chicken (excellent); stir-fried some vegetables (decadent); and even used it as a salad dressing (spectacular)! Other incredible sauce flavors include Barbecue Figs; Lemon & Mint Chili; Garlic Chili; and Red Wine Onion.
The splice blends created by Olio & Spices are nothing to sneeze at, either. We know that certain spices work well when mixed together but it's often difficult for a busy chef to find the right proportions. One mistake may leave your dish tasting either a bit bland or overseasoned but these seven distinct flavor creations will make seasoning your dishes easier than ever before?
Our favorites? Well, we really loved the Summer Blend - a light mixture of sunflower seeds, pine nuts, parsley, onion, and several other flavors. It can be used to season meats or you might enjoy simply sprinkling it on a salad. The Salt & Pepper blend makes using these simple yet important seasonsings easier than ever before as well.
